Word on the street

Zhoubot. Rhymes with robot.

American addicted to life abroad. Since 2008 I've lived in Dalian, Shanghai, and Singapore; now I'm currently based in Paris. I've worked in journalism, tech-start ups, reality television, China blogging, and now travel blogging. I mostly write at expatedna.com.

I'm into: traveling the world, photography with a purpose, and Irish accents.

GPOYW, round 2: We had a three-day weekend thanks to Diwali being a public holiday, so I took a Fri-Sat trip to Kuala Lumpur. It quickly went from epic roadtrip to giant hassle and in the end probably not worth the effort, but I ended up really liking the city (I completely forgot about the existence of gum!) and it was the first time I’d been out of Singapore since I moved here over three months ago. So still a much, much needed vaca. Also, I missed being legally allowed to jaywalk.
(Oh, and for those that aren’t aware, the Petronas Towers are the tallest buildings in the world.)
