Zhoubot. Rhymes with robot.

American addicted to life abroad. Since 2008 I've lived in Dalian, Shanghai, and Singapore; now I'm currently based in Paris. I've worked in journalism, tech-start ups, reality television, China blogging, and now travel blogging. I mostly write at expatedna.com.

I'm into: traveling the world, photography with a purpose, and Irish accents.

note how my room is decorated to an almost embarrassingly degree with Irish posters
Today was an eventful day. After finishing my last final, I went around campus saying goodbyes to the few professors that meant the most to me during my four years here, and gave them a small gift and card. (Yeah, I’m that kid.) All of them had some very nice things to say to me, and it was pretty emotional.
Then my mom and sister were up for their last meals in the Etown caf (hey, we’ve got good grub here), and my mom brought my…Brand New DSLR!!
It’s a Canon EOS Rebel XS, and it my combination graduation/birthday present from my godmother, grandparents, and an aunt and uncle, all combined. I’m absolutely in love with it, I cannot describe how happy I am to finally have my first DSLR.
Then my two underclassmen roommates moved home, as only seniors are allowed to be on campus for the next week, so their room is creepily bare, and our apartment has a bit of an echo to it now. I don’t like it. It’s not homey anymore.
Finally, I went to the ALANA senior dinner, and of course at a school that is 95% white, there were only two seniors there. But I got a fantastic dinner out of it, and they gave me a very soft Etown beach towel. That’s right, I get a beach towel just for being Asian.
So after such an exhausting day, and sleep deprived week, I declined all offers to go out on my second to last weekend of senior year, and meant to go to bed around 7…but I’ve been up playing with my camera and am still awake. Bollocks.
